An original pen & ink illustration is embedded below the wax layer. Portions have been carved to reveal the drawing which also shows through the most translucent areas. The Alum Cave Trail leading up to Mt. LeConte in the Great Smoky Mountains is one of the most popular trails in the Smokies. Pink Rhododendrons are in bloom in the mid summer months at the various elevations.
