Rich colors from the trees and rocks still glow in the late afternoon sun. The Chimney Tops trail is one of the most popular in the Great Smoky Mountains. While relatively short at only 1.9 miles, the elevation gain can be challenging to some casual hikers. The final climb over the rocks at the top adds an additional challenge.
