Beeswax layers fused with heat. A durable process widely used in tomb portraits of ancient times.

WOOD  GRAIN  INSPIRED

Like looking at a cloud, images can be seen in some wood grain.

 I like to go to the lumber mill and find images that way. I will then have them cut at certain places to preserve what I find.

Sometimes I'll use the palette colors from masterpieces to bring out the image.

Other times I'll inscribe words into the wax that Native Americans use to describe certain animals

or adhere found objects to further describe a scene.
