As Dad was trying to take care of Mom when
she became severely ill, a tornado struck, taking away 10 of his
beehives. He later found a swarm on the ground covering and
protecting their Queen. As I always called Mom a Queen Bee and
Dad was trying to protect her, the inspiration for this piece
was created. |
A
painting medium in which the binder for the
pigment is wax and resin and after application,
is set by heat. Examples of encaustic tomb
portraits from Roman Egypt bear witness to the
durability of the medium, which is thought to
have been widely used in ancient times.

A gnarl that looked like a
wolf emerging from the wood inspired this piece.
Wolf represents freedom and individuality. Yet
wolf as a pack animal teaches us cooperation and
how to live as a community.

Masks, costumes, beads and of course, boobs. |
