This painting was inspired by one day of hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains in the summer. A hiker standing on the side of the steep mountain gives it scale. The clouds would come and go sometimes totally obscuring the view and other times exposing a blue sky. It was a magical and mystical day as the mountains lived up to their name.
