Sand Cave in Summer at Cumberland Gap
10" x 8"
Encaustic and Pen & Ink on Wood
Sand Cave is actually an overhang. The floor below is thick with
sand making it difficult to walk across. The cave walls are
multicolored like a giant abstract painting. People are shown
for scale. The paper is layered over rice paper and is cut and
torn adding relief to the painted surface.
